May! One of my favorite months! We generally have cherries, strawberries, cabbages, peas and so many other fresh veggies this month. Garden chores are still a delight while the temperatures are not soaring out of control.
Keep on the harvest of peas so they will continue to produce.
Continue weeding and clearing away debris.
Thin beets, carrots and parsnips for a better harvest down the road.
Plant beans, summer squash and cucumbers.
snap large cauliflower leaves over cauliflower heads to keep from turning yellow.
Break off or cut off flowering stems of rhubarb plants at the base.
Begin weekly or bi-weekly liquid fertilizing regimen in pots and on veggie crops.
